What does home mean to you?

I think this is a tough topic,
but our members are so creative
I look forward to seeing some really good ideas!

I'd like to see Spotlight Photos continue
but the beginning of the week is a very busy time for me.
If you are able to volunteer to help out please leave a comment.
We can have people take turns
or one person do the whole thing.
Or even a coordinator to coordinate volunteers.
Whatever works!

Getting High, shooting down – spotlights

Am just about ready to run out the door.  We will be in Italy the next month so I will be out of the ‘spotlight choosing’ business for a while.  This week I want to highlight Shiju's spinning merry-go-round but his page wouldn’t let me grab a copy.  So if you’ve not seen it, please take the time to follow the link above and take a look, it’s a wonderful photo. (able to load photo below)

A second note:  I chose a photo from Ranu’s post.  The city shot is really spectacular, but the photo copied over so small it wouldn’t show well here.  So please check out the photo.

This week, like all weeks, we had some interesting stories, places we’d never seen before and really great photos.  I don’t know how Jama does it, every week, week after week, she has at least five photos that I love.  Basically I close my eyes and just point and see which one my mouse picks….. If you take exception to this method please contact Rebecca and volunteer to do the picks for a few weeks.  I know she will appreciate the help and having to choose the spotlights will give you a new perspective on our Friday Shoot Outs.

A here are a few to recap our week:

Next week: Show us what Home means to you.  I am SO glad that I will be traveling and not to home.  You all know how confused I am about who / what / or where home is – so no post by me….. I will stop by though and leave a comment, my week isn’t complete without saying hi to you all.

*** Shiju sent me a link for his photo.  even though late – enjoy her wonderful photo.

Spotlight photos - Weather

Once again – GREAT shoot out ladies and Gentlemen.

First just a note or two --- or three; this is the Friday shoot out but if it takes you until Monday morning to post then that is wonderful. Do not apologize for having a busy life, for being tired or even for being lazy. We all have had these feelings, and in the end we want everyone to come back week after week and we want you to enjoy taking the photos and posting. I would also like to see more new groupies; invite a friend or family member to join us. Okay, and last…. try to get by everyone’s post and make a comment. A nice comment is great but not mandatory….. “was here” would be okay. I know I have been at this a long time – but what I enjoy about it the most is hearing from everyone….. Just say’n

Okay – after looking at everyone’s contributions, enjoying them all, making comments to let you know I was by; I chose a few to highlight the topic. There were several people that gave us photos showing off their 4 seasons and more in between – this was a grand idea. Showing us how the weather in your town changes throughout the year. There are a few, myself included, that live in areas where it would be hard to depict the changes in seasons. Lucky ones are able to feel and see extreme changes. I love that. Okay here are my picks for the week.

Spotlight Photos Shallow Depth of Field

Jama's Butterfly on a Flower
Perfectly in focus against a soft background.

Mark's Bubbleman
Terrific-ly soft background.
So what if it isn't a word!

Cheryl's Damselfly
Wow, perfect!

Ginger's Iris
Flowers worked really well for this topic!

Kim's Flowers
I love the orange on green too.  It really pops.

Shiju's Sky how only one flower is in focus.
Again, the color combinations work really well here too.

Thanks all for participating!
This week's theme is Weather.

Spotlight – My Town in Black and White

What a lucky draw for me; to get to pick the spotlight photos for a great topic.  I am using Camillo computer and it just works differently from mine.  I had a couple glitches – I wanted to put up one of Rebecca’s …   Rebecca – I tried to copy your snow covered house but your site wont allow it, so everyone make sure you go by Rebecca’s and see her Black and White photos.  I was also unable to leave a comment for Cheryl – said my browser wasn’t supported….. hum.

Most everyone had more than one photo and all were just great.  This week I thought I would let the commenters make the choices, so I not only looked at the photos but read all of the comments and made a mental note (no complicated spreadsheets like Butler may have done) of which was the viewers favorites.  Only in a couple of cases did I make the choice – when there wasn’t a clear favorite then (YEAH!) I made the selection.  Then from your favorites I chose these 5….. great post everyone.
